Vortex Structures
Vortex Structures are mobile, modular installations designed for dance and ritual. Each structure is conceived as a living environment - responsive and intentional.
They are not shelters, nor simply works of art, but vessels shaped to hold energy and support presence, amplifying experience through form and sound.
How They Work
Built from modular components, each structure can be assembled and transported with ease. This flexibility allows them to appear at festivals or community spaces, always recognisable yet never fixed.
Like a dance, they evolve with context. One structure may serve as a temple-like circle for intimate ritual, while another could open wide for collective movement.

Design Principles
Every Vortex Structure is guided by three core principles:
Embodiment
The body is central. Geometries and materials are chosen to evoke movement and a visceral response.
Resonance
Sound and vibration are not added afterwards, but are designed into the space itself, shaping the atmosphere and emotional impact.
Sacred Function
The structures act as portals, instantly recognisable as places of gathering and transformation, wherever they travel.

A Prototype in process
The first Vortex Structure is currently under development. We are testing materials and experimenting with forms, listening closely to what dancers and facilitators feel inside these environments.
This is an unfolding journey, shaped by collaboration and real-world experimentation.
Design Journal
Here we will share glimpses of the Vortex Structures as they take shape, from early design explorations to on-site prototypes. Each step is part of a learning process, and this page will grow as new forms emerge.

Shaping the Work
Vortex Structures are not a finished product, but rather the result of our ongoing research project: The Architecture of Somatic Ritual.
If you are a festival or fellow creator who feels resonance with this vision, we invite you to join us as we bring the first prototypes to life.
